Katherine Summer Kim is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of belonging, nature and spirituality. Their ongoing experience navigating these aspects of the human condition informs their creative practice and, ultimately, their way of life. As they work to uncover multiple – often conflicting – truths about them-Self and the world they are a part of, they aim to maintain a holistic life view that prioritizes curiosity, connection and creativity. Their work spans from figurative to abstraction, employing mediums such as paint, ink and collage.

In 2026, the U.S. marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and Colorado marks the 150th anniversary of our entrance into the Union. To commemorate these twin anniversaries, BHA’s Recovery Cards Project developed eight new greeting cards—including one that celebrates Colorado and one that celebrates America—all within the theme of addiction recovery. “Growth” is one of the eight cards included in this showcase.
